Welcome to the Northern Lights Festival where bucket list adventures are our everyday surroundings! The people of Northern BC appreciate that we are home to the best viewing of the Northern Lights. In March and August every year, the Northern Lights shine bright and bring the energy of the Fort Nelson First Nations ancestors! Come and feel the atmosphere that only tradition and culture can create!

Nestled in the town of Fort Nelson, a quaint Northern BC community, the Fort Nelson First Nations and the people of Fort Nelson welcome you to share in their culture, traditions, ceremonies and to see all of the natural wonders that live and breathe in the North.

Your Northern Lights Full Festival Package includes all of the events of the Northern Lights Festival, an overnight trip to the Fort Nelson First Nations Lodge at Liard Hot Springs and two adventures into the history and lifestyle of Northern BC.

Your journey to Liard Hot Springs is one you will never forget. Here you will have the chance to see the Northern Lights while soaking your body and soul in the naturally heated waters of the hot springs. Two more adventures await you! First, a historical sled dog ride. You will learn what it was like to travel through the snowy terrain, being pulled by champion sled dogs from Streeper Kennels! Next, our partners, Jag Adventures, are ready to train you how to drive a snowmobile! Two hours of fun learning how to drive through the trail system around Fort Nelson to access places that you cannot see by foot or by car.

Your week of culture and community includes daily festival shuttle transportation to make it easy to experience the First Nations culinary demonstrations and traditional performances, the Opening Ceremony where you will be able to join in for a traditional First Nations Ceremony, and so much more!
