What to wear: It is best to keep dry and active. It is also important to have the following items of clothing: A warm hat, like a toque A warm jacket Winter boots Mittens or gloves A scarf or neck warmer Snow pants or a snow suit Sweater LongJohn's Dress in layers!

WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE AT THE FESTIVAL? HOW HOT WILL IT BE DURING THE DAY AND HOW COLD WILL IT BE AT NIGHT?


Average temperatures for the last three years ranged from a Day Time Hight of +10 C to a Night Time Low of -15 C.




HOW DO I GET TO FORT NELSON


You can book a flight directly to Fort Nelson, or Fort St. John and then drive North (4 hours) with a rented car. We recomend that you book a ticket direct to Fort Nelson. CMA is the only airline that flies into Fort Nelson. Airport Codes:

WHERE IS THE VENUE


The Festival will be taking place all throughout the town, upon arrival you will be given a welcome package with detailed instructions.




ARE CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED? WHAT ABOUT DEBIT? CASH?


Important - Bring Canadian cash with you for smaller purchases. All vendors at the festival will accept cash. Credit and debit cards will be accepted by the larger establishments, and businesses. Expect some places to ONLY accept cash. There are ATM's located throughout the festival, including in the Recreation Centre.




WILL THERE BE A FESTIVAL MAP AHEAD OF TIME SO WE CAN SEE LOCATIONS OF FOOD AND BATHROOM AREAS? WHAT ABOUT THE LOCATION OF THE STAGES AND TENTS ARTISTS WILL BE PLAYING ON?


Festival Maps are included in your festival registration. Please head to registration upon arrival, during registration hours, to pick up your festival package.




IS THERE CELL RECEPTION


There is Bell Mobility Service in Fort Nelson. There is very limited cell service from other companies. Most Hotels have wifi, and some of the local restaurants do as well.

WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH THE WRISTBAND PURCHASE


Included in the wristband is: Seed to Seal Harvest Experience, Opening Ceremonies, Northern Lights Marketplace, Sledding, The Northern Lights Viewing, Cultural Performance Art Events including music, dance and traditional ceremonies (opening and closing), First Nations Elder Story Telling, Culinary Demonstrations, Community Events, Closing Ceremonies that are happening in various locations throughout town during the festival. To add to your experience, festival packages are available as of October 15th to include Liard Hot Springs Overnight Adventure, Historical Sled Dog Rides and Snowmobile Tours. WHAT IS THE REFUND POLICY


The Northern Lights Festival has a "No Refunds" Policy. This is to ensure the festival provides the best possible experience for those attending. If you cannot attend the festival, your ticket will be honoured for two years. Please click here to download the Refund Policy.
